Search Engine Optimization Tips You Should Do Before Launching Your Website | INeedArticles.com

You’re launching a new website, but you want to make sure potential customers see your site. You understand that search engine optimization, or SEO, is the way to get your new site out of the crowd and front and center for your brand. Here’s a few search engine optimization tips to launch your site successfully!

Before we jump into search engine optimization tips, it’s important to understand what exactly search engine optimization (SEO) means.  Search engine optimization or SEO involves techniques designed to bring the maximum number of targeted readers to your site for your niche.  For example, let’s say you own a yoga studio in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago.  If a person interested in taking yoga classes in Lincoln Park were to go to Google and type in the search bar “yoga studio Chicago Lincoln Park,” chances are the link to your business will pop up on the first page of Google for that keyword phrase.

However, if your yoga site was not searched engine optimized, and your link did not show up in a prominent place on Google for your niche, visitors searching for yoga classes would find other businesses in the area offering the same service that you are.

That’s why it’s imperative that you get your site search engine optimized before you launch with essential SEO tips and tricks.   Because when you have a large number of visitors to your site who are looking for what you’re offering, you have the best potential of making sales.

Here are some search engine optimization tips for beginners that you will need to include before your site launches.  They will help land your site on page one, or hopefully no further than page two, of Google for your niche.

Know Your Target Market

Understanding your target market is crucial.  Building on the yoga studio example, if you were to say to yourself, “I want to promote to anyone interested in yoga,” that kind of target goal is too general.  You have to get laser-focused on determining your market accurately.  Ask yourself: Where do my potential customers live?  How old are they? Are they male or female?  Are they adults or children? What is their median income?  What is their educational level?

Let’s say your yoga studio is a high-end business in the Lincoln Park area with classes in the middle to upper price range.  Your studio also includes an organic snack bar. An example of laser focusing on your target market in Lincoln Park in Chicago could be – “I want to promote to female and male adults in the Lincoln Park area who are interested in yoga classes and organic foods and who have a median income of at least $80,000.”

Once You Have Your Target Market, You Can Create a Set of Keywords and Keyword Phrases

Your keywords are the foundations of what gets you good placement on Google for your niche, and they need to be as focused as possible to be most effective.  Now that you know your target market, you can draw from there for your keywords.  Looking again at the yoga studio example, “yoga studio Chicago” is a keyword phrase, and it doesn’t hurt to include it on your site, but some keywords are more targeted.  For example, “yoga studio Lincoln Park Chicago,” gets your visitors out of the general Chicago area and into Lincoln Park specifically.  To get even more focused, you could go with “yoga studio Lincoln Park Chicago organic.” The more targeted the keywords, the fewer the searches.  However, it’s important to put a variety of keyword phrases on your website.  Before you launch your site, make sure keywords are included in your title, your contents, your videos and more.

Is Your Site Organized and Color Coordinated?

Another important factor of a website that is search engine optimized is the look of the site.  Is it well organized?  For example, does it feature a clear site map that makes it easy for your visitors to navigate your site?

What colors have you chosen?  The goal of your website or blog when you’re promoting goods and services is conversion.  The right colors can contribute to that.   Study the colors of popular sites that offer similar services to what you’re offering.

Provide Well-Written Content

Using the right keywords and having an organized site are just a couple of things you’ll need to have in place. You’ll also need to include original, well-written content on your blog or website designed to inform and entertain your customers in the best way possible.  Content that is not original or, worse, that is plagiarized will not favor well with Google.  Keyword stuffed content is also something that you should avoid.

Include Videos on Your Site

Videos have become a popular way to draw potential customers to a site.   People love to see images in motion and including videos that are keyword optimized can attract a lot of visitors that can convert into customers. Building on the yoga studio example, including a video of a yoga class in progress is an excellent way to inform people.  Or including a video of the dos and don’ts of yoga is a way to get results.

Have a Presence on Social Media

In the 21st century, with almost everyone on social media, not participating on social media is a huge mistake for your new website. As a website or blog owner, you should have a presence on at least two social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.  Once you have a presence on social media, link back to your website or blog in your posts.

These are just a few of the important search engine optimization tips and tricks that you should be aware of when you are creating your site. Take your time and get your search engine optimization techniques in place before you launch with a special focus on your target market.  Make sure you understand who you want to promote your products and services to. Enlist the help of a search engine optimization specialist if you feel professional help is needed to get your site or blog off to a good start.
